Denfurlong has been taking campers for more than forty years, tucked into a quiet fold of the Cotswolds six miles north of Cirencester. Tents come first here: roomy ten by ten metre grass pitches from £12 a night, with electric pitches alongside for tourers and campervans. The camping field is well sheltered, and the farm's woods and old railway line give children somewhere to roam within shouting distance of the tent.

The facilities punch above the price. Campers in 2025 praised the big family wet rooms and hot showers that never ran cold, and there is a washing up area, drinking water taps and an Elsan point. Firebowls are welcome as long as they stay off the grass, with fire pit hire including wood if you travel light. The Myrtle Airstream serves pizzas on Fridays and breakfasts on Sundays, and a small seasonal shop covers the basics.

Why children love it

  • Mini bike track and space for ball games right by the camping field
  • Farm woods and a disused railway line for children to explore
  • Large family sized wet rooms that make washing small children painless

Days out nearby

  • Chedworth Roman Villa, National Trust mosaics and a good woodland walk, about 2 miles
  • The Fossebridge Inn, roughly a mile down the lane for a proper pub lunch
  • Bibury and Arlington Row, the postcard Cotswolds, around a 15 minute drive

Know before you go

  • The old farm shop is long gone, so arrive provisioned; the on site shop is small and seasonal and Cirencester is 15 minutes away
  • Pizza Fridays and Sunday breakfasts from the Myrtle Airstream are a treat, but check they are running for your dates before promising the kids
  • Grass pitches are unserviced and the field can turn muddy after rain, so pack wellies and confirm the 2026 opening date before an early season trip

The honest bit

The much loved Chedworth Farm Shop and cafe closed for good, so despite what older guides say you are down to a small seasonal shop and a food truck; stock up in Cirencester.
